6 November 2024

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. expressed his gratitude on Wednesday to member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) that helped the Philippines during the calamities.

The President made the remarks during the aid distribution ceremonies at the Fuerte Camsur Sports Complex. He led the distribution of financial aid and provision of government services to 5,000 farmers, fisherfolk, and their families affected by the storms.

Singapore sent a C-130 aircraft to the Philippines to support search and retrieval operations. Indonesia provided an H225M Caracal and an MI-17-V5 Helicopter.

Malaysia sent a Eurocapter EC-725, while Brunei Darussalam dispatched a C-295 aircraft and two S-70i helicopters.

Singapore also carried out eight “humanitarian goods sorties” along with nine from Malaysia; 10 from Brunei Darussalam; and 13 from Indonesia. | PND
